George Bitsoris received the Diploma of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (1973), from the Technical University of Athens-Greece, on 1973and the Diploma of Advanced Studies (1974) and the Doctoratd’État  (1978), both in automatic control, from the Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse-France). From 1974 to 1978 heheldaresearchpositionattheLaboratoired’Automatque et d’Analyse des Systémes of the National Center of Scientific Research in Toulouse-France.From 1978 to 1991 hejoined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras, successively asa SeniorLecturer and as an Associated Professor.Since 1991 he is a professor in the Division of Systems and Control of the same Department.Hehas been avisitingprofessoratthe UniversitáPolitecnicadeCatalunya (Barcelona-Spain) andtheSupélec (Paris-France) andavisitingresearcherattheL.A.A.S.-C.N.R.S.(Toulouse-France), attheIRCCyN (Nantes-France) at the University of Campinas (Campinas-Brazil) and at the Kyoto University (Kyoto-Japan). His research interests include the analysis of linear and nonlinear dynamical systems and the development of design techniques for constrained control.
