The Library is open: Monday Friday 08:00 21:00 During August Monday-Friday 08:00 - 14:00 The library contains about 90,000 books, 2,700 periodical titles (673 current issues) and 7,924 e-journals. It subscribes to several online databanks. University students and employees, students and scientists of other educational institutions of the Patras area are eligible to borrow from the library as long as they are holders of a library card. The library contains photocopying machines, either with counters or magnetic cards which are for the reader's use. Books and scientific papers not contained in the library can be ordered through the library from other national or international libraries. Any cost will be charged to the user. As a new service, the library offers the possibility for on-line bibliographic services through specialised documentalists. In addition to the Main Library, smaller libraries with specialized books and periodicals are located in other buildings. In particular, in the School of Engineering, the Department of Computer Engineering and the Chemical Engineering Institute have specialised libraries. In the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, each laboratory has its own library.
