Dr Panagiotis Svarnas holds a professor tenure post at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras, Greece, where he has been appointed as Director of the High Voltage Laboratory of the Electric Power Division. He has served as professor in Advanced Physics to the postgraduate level of the Hellenic Open University, too. He is also consultant for national and international companies.

He is the scientific coordinator for the University of Patras of the EIC project (2024 – 2028) «A minimally invasive surgical platform against pancreatic and biliary tract cancers using cold atmospheric PLASMA» (HORIZON-EIC-2023-PATHFINDER OPEN), having a total budget of #3. 000. 000# Euros.

His specialty refers to high voltage engineering, electrical discharges, and cold plasma physics and technology. He has been trained at

Prof Svarnas has been recognized by the Greek Ministry of National Defense for his scientific excellence in foreign research institutes.

He has been elevated to Senior Member of IEEE, he is a member of the American Physical Society (APS) and the Greek Technical Chamber (TEE).
