George V. Moustakides was born in Greece, in 1955. He received the diploma in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1979, the MSE in Systems Engineering from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, in 1980, and the Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Princeton University, Princeton NJ, in 1983. From 1983 to 1986 he held a research position at INRIA, Rennes, France and from 1987 to 1990 a research position at the Computer Technology Institute of Patras, Patras, Greece. From 1991 to 1996, he joint as an Associate Professor the Computer Engineering and Informatics department, University of Patras and in 1996 he became Professor at the same department. In 2002 he joint the department of Computer and Communications Engineering, University of Thessaly, Volos, Greece, as a Professor and he stayed with this department until 2006. Since 2006 he is a Professor with the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece. His interests include sequential detection techniques, multiuser communications and stochastic signal processing.
