Dr.-Eng. Epaminondas D. Mitronikas was born in Agrinio, Greece, in March 1973. He received the Dipl.-Eng. degree in electrical and computer engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Patras, Greece, in 1995 and 2002, respectively. In 2003 he joined the Electromechanical Energy Conversion Laboratory of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Patras, Greece, where he is currently an Assistant Professor. Since then, he is teaching Electric Motor Drive Systems, Advanced Control of Electrical machines, Small Electric Motors, and he is involved in teaching Electrical Machines Laboratory Exercises. He has been supervising several Diploma theses, he is the supervisor of four (4) PhD theses and he has been a member of the advisory committee of more than six (6) PhD theses. He has participated in ten (10) research programs, in two of which he was the leader and holds one (1) Patent. His research interests include analysis, modeling and construction of Electric drive Systems, Electrical Machines, Power Electronic Converters, Small Power Electric Motors, Field Oriented Control of AC Machines, propulsion systems for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles, Digital Control strategies for Electric Drives, Electrical Machines and Drives Fault Diagnosis. He is the author or co-author of more than 83 papers published in international journals and conference proceedings, while his published work has been referred by more than 550 papers. Dr. Mitronikas is a member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Technical Chamber of Greece and the Greek Union of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.
