Charalampos Bechlioulis received a diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2006), a degree in Mathematics (2011) and a PhD in Engineering (2011) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. From 2012 to 2021, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Control Systems Lab of the School of Mechanical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, where he has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor during the years 2018-2020. In addition, he has been an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki during the years 2017-2018 as well as a Lecturer of the Interdepartmental Program of Postgraduate Studies "Automation Systems" of the National Technical University of Athens during the years 2013-2021. His main research interests involve the integration of automatic control, robotics, mechatronics and computer science in closed loop schemes (physical computing). In particular, his expertise spans the areas of nonlinear control, decentralized control of multi-agent systems, unmanned robotic platforms (aerial, ground and underwater), visual servoing, real time control and embedded systems. In his research methodology, he aspires to formulate open issues in control engineering within a generic control framework, identify motivating applications that can be enabled by new control approaches, develop efficient control algorithms and validate their effectiveness experimentally (if possible) in practical setups. He has published more than 90 papers in international scientific journals and conferences as well as 3 book chapters. He serves as an associate editor and reviewer for numerous international conferences and scientific journals. He has participated in 10 research and development projects funded by European and national resources. He is a member of the IEEE and the Greek Technical Chamber.
