Summer School on Information, Noise, and Physics of Life

"School on Information, Noise, and Physics of Life'', will be held in Niš, Serbia, organized in collaboration between The Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) from Trieste, Italy, and the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MISANU) from Belgrade, Serbia, from September 19. to September 30. of 2022.

The details can be seen at the following link:
https://indico.ictp.it/event/9826/

We would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this news to your collaborators and peers, so that the information can reach all the interested Msc students, PhD students and Postdocs.

The extended deadline for the applications for the applicants from the countries that do not require visa to enter Serbia is AUGUST 15.

The lectures will be delivered by the world leading experts in the fields of information, noise, and physics of life and the school will provide the attendees with the knowledge about advanced tools from information theory, statistical physics and machine learning to equip the participants with the key knowledge on stochastic analysis for modeling of complex signals,
which are ubiquitous in non-equilibrium physics, biophysical processes, and in the noise of measurement devices.

The goal of the summer school is the expansion of international cooperation, especially among young people, the exchange of scientific and professional knowledge and experience in the fields of control theory, information theory, statistical physics and biophysics, as well as the promotion of science in the local community.

Upon a selection process, 25 extraordinary attendees will be elected to participate in the school in person and a number of travel grants will be approved for selected attendees which need the assistance. In addition, we ensured the spots for 50 attendees who could participate online. The selection of the attendees will be done by an international team of the school officials while striving for gender balance, geographical distribution and regional development. To help us to accomplish efficient
and fair selection, the applicants are kindly requested to ensure up to two referees (recommenders) of their application which could be contacted during the selection process.

After successful accomplishment of the school, the attendees will be awarded by an internationally recognized certificate of participation. With the knowledge they will acquire and valuable contacts they will establish, we sincerely hope to help them to make a solid ground for great steps in their future scientific careers.

We are looking forward to meeting you at this great event!
