      Students should apply to the Secretariat of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering for information and help concerning the following matters:

      * Information on registration following their admission to the Department, and on all other matters pertaining to their student status.
      * Applications for registration, renewal of registration, re registration, choice of electives, etc.
      * Requests for copies of student records and degrees.
      * Applications for scholarships and loans. " Requests for student ID cards and student tickets.
      * Information on any other matter concerning the Department.

      The Secretariat is open to students: Monday to Thursday 12:00 - 13:15

      Particularly for health and hospital care, the Office is open daily during the above hours.

      The Student Hall of Residence includes 880 single rooms grouped into 8 wings. The Hall of Residence has canteens, recreation rooms, an indoor swimming pool, a theatre, a library and a restaurant seating 2,000 students.

      Acceptance in the Hall of Residence depends on the financial status of the applicant. Students newly admitted to the University must apply for admission to the Hall of Residence within 20 days following the announcement of the National Entrance Examination results. All other students must apply by 31 May for the next academic year.

       Apart from resident students, the restaurant is also open to non-resident students who are scholarship holders and to a limited number of other students who are eligible for meals free of charge due to their financial status.

      Such meals are also provided off campus by restaurants under contract with the University. For more information, contact the Students' Club.

       Applications start from August 28. After submission of the application, free meals start from September 1. New students must apply within 15 days of their enrolment


  • University Libraries

      The Library is open: Monday Friday 08:00 21:00 During August Monday-Friday 08:00 - 14:00 The library contains about 90,000 books, 2,700 periodical titles (673 current issues) and 7,924 e-journals. It subscribes to several online databanks. University students and employees, students and scientists of other educational institutions of the Patras area are eligible to borrow from the library as long as they are holders of a library card. The library contains photocopying machines, either with counters or magnetic cards which are for the reader's use. Books and scientific papers not contained in the library can be ordered through the library from other national or international libraries. Any cost will be charged to the user. As a new service, the library offers the possibility for on-line bibliographic services through specialised documentalists. In addition to the Main Library, smaller libraries with specialised books and periodicals are located in other buildings. In particular, in the School of Engineering, the Department of Computer Engineering and the Chemical Engineering Institute have specialised libraries. In the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, each laboratory has its own library.
  • Athletics University Gymnasium

      The Gymnasium is open from 1 October, 9am to 9pm daily, except Saturdays and Sundays. Attendance is compulsory for first year students (20 attendances required).

      The University offers a variety of specialised facilities, including outdoor grounds for soccer, specially surfaced basket ball and tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool and indoor sports hall, all of which are available to students. Many sports, exercise and recreational options are available. Weightlifting, track events, martial arts, sailing, skiing, along with organised team sports are all offered. Students may become members of teams such as:

      * water polo
      * basket ball
      * volley ball
      * shooting
      * tennis
      * soccer
      * chess
      * table tennis
      * cross country running

      which compete against regional and Panhellenic teams in tournaments organised by the Universities. The events are held yearly. Programs are available for all sports activities from the gymnasium.

  • Health Care
    • Students who are not under any health insurance plan are eligible for medical care, hospitalisation and provision of prescribed medicine. Students must apply for the student health care plan at the Secretariat of their Department. For Electrical & Computer Engineering students Eleni Tsirou. Tel. +30 2610 996 418.

  • Transportation
    • During the academic year, City bus #6 and #9 runs regularly between the Campus and downtown Patras every 10 minutes (every 60 minutes in holidays). Taxi service is also available on campus. There is a taxi rank outside Patras University Hospital or call radio-taxi, Tel.: +302610450000, +302610346700, +302610425201, +302610420193.
  • Cultural Events
    • A number of cultural events sponsored by the University, the Mayor of Patras or other agencies take place throughout the year at the University grounds or in the city of Patras.
