Authors registration and papers submission for PAIS 2008 will be made
at:

Submission is a three-step process. In a first step authors are required to register as new authors with the Conference Submission System (note that only 1 registration is needed if you submit more than 1 paper). After registration as author the login data will be sent to the specified email address. This data can be used to access the system. In a second step authors have to register their paper (click the Register paper button). The authors are asked to specify the paper type (ECAI, PAIS), keywords, and whether they are interested in acceptance as a poster in case of rejection as full paper. Authors are also required to submit an abstract of their paper..

The system will then assign a paper ID to each submission which is sent to the contact author. Before uploading the paper (step 3, deadline Feb. 25th, 23:59 CET), the author information has to be replaced in the submitted version by the paper ID to facilitate anonymous reviewing.

We will only accept files in pdf-format. Note also that contrary to earlier years we only accept electronic submissions through the Conference Submission Management System. Please do not send papers directly to the PC-chair.

Style guide

This section describes the style required for the camera-ready paper version for the technical programme of ECAI 2008 and PAIS 2008 (5 pages). It is highly recommended to use the same style for submission of papers as well. The same style is also used for poster submissions (2 pages).

The style for ECAI 2008 and PAIS 2008 papers and posters is the same as the one already used for ECAI-06 and ECAI-04. A description of the style can be found here. For Latex users the necessary files can be downloaded here.

It is highly recommended to submit papers using the final camera-ready formatting style. Submissions must not exceed five pages in camera-ready format. Submissions of unformatted papers are limited to 6000 words including footnotes, figure captions, tables, appendices, and bibliography. Each half-page of figures will be counted as 600 words. (Please note that for some papers five camera-ready pages may be considerably less than 6000 words in practice.) Overlength submissions will be rejected without review. Authors submitting unformatted papers must include a word count on their paper.

Submissions violating the formatting guidelines will be excluded from the reviewing process. This includes papers which are not anonymous.

Blind reviewing

Reviewing for ECAI 2008 and PAIS 2008 papers (not posters!) will be blind to the identities of the authors and their institutions. To allow for blind reviewing replace the authors line in your paper by the unique tracking number assigned by the submission of the summary form (or leave it empty in case you are not able to use the web-based summary submission form). Please avoid identifying self-references. Replace phrases like "We have shown in [n] ..." by "In [n] it has been shown...".
